Menard - St Aubin connection?

My husband's earliest known ancestor was Franklin Miner, born 1819/20 in St Philippe,QC. He came to the US in the early 1830s and resided in New York, most likely the Essex Co. area. Became a citizen in 1844 (Troy,NY). My husband had his DNA done, and the surnames Menard, St. Aubin, and LaRose had matches on the paternal side. Would anyone have any guesses as to the St. Aubin connection. Family history is that the Miner surname was the result of a name change because of teasing (sounded like horse sh*t). So I'm guessing that is the Menard. The LaRose I'm guessing is a "dit" name, but I can't figure out the St. Aubin connection. If anybody has any ideas, I'd love to hear them - this is a brick wall research wise.
Thanks! Mary
