Alfred,
You sent a message to my sister cpstandre on the 18th and I she was posting the original message for me. The St. Andre furthest ancestor I have traced on the St. Andre side is a Joseph (Jacobi) St. Andre(birthplace unknown), his son Charles Bodequin St.Andre was born in 1785 and died 8-13-1858. He was married twice that we have found. Mary LaFleur on 3-1-1828 and Rachael Pond on 1-30-1837. Both of these marriages took place in Michigan. Mary in Gros Cap, Mackinac County and Rachael on Mackinac Island. Charles and Rachael's son Charles Bernard St. Andre (born in 1841 in St. Ignace, MI) had a son named Oliver Aloysius ( born 4-2-1876 in Epoufette, MI) who had a son named Bernard Lionel (born 7-7-1914 in Marquette, MI) that was my father. What I am looking for is when and where Joseph St. Andre was born and exactly when and where Charles Bodequin St.Andre was born. My father always said that we had native American ancestry on the St. Andre side but I have been unable to find any. Any information you might have would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
Bev

Bev,
According to the information I have received from other people, Charles Bodequin second wife, Rachel Pond was 100 percent Chippewa and Charles Bernard married Eliza Obeshaw, who was also 100 percent Chippewa.

Beverly,
If you wish information on the Botquin dit St. Andre family from Pierre I to my great granchildren, then please contact me at lcstandrie@yahoo.com. I have a good family tree from Pierre Botquin dit St. Andre, born St. Pierre, Saumur, Anjou, France, married Marie Claude Bourguoin and they migrated to Canada .After 3 or 4 generations, the family name was changed from Botquin to St. Andre and very few kept the Botquin name (though some did). Charles migrated to Fort Detroit with Cadillac and settle in the Michigan area. There are several of his descendants in Michigan.
If you will send me you postal address I would be glad to send you a copy of the family tree that is good for the first 4 generations and then my ancestor (Andre St. Andre) migrated to Louisiana and so my tree leaves off a lot of the relatives after that. You will find that the name has been listed as
St. Andre, St. Andrie, St. Andry and St. Andria.
There are descendants in LA, MS, AR, UT, MI and several of the New England states, although a lot of the St. Andre families are not descended from the Botquin Family.

My great grandfather was Charles Bernard St. Andre. His son, Bernard Francis St Andre was my grandfather with one of his daughters, Caroline Marie St. Andre being my mother. I was delighted to see information on here concerning my family since most have passed on and I havent kept very good records of what I have been told. I would be interested in any information you can offer. I also think that one of the responses I read from Bev is actually my aunt. I have added a picture of myself, since many in the family say I resemble the St Andre side so much.

Can you give any other information? My records show that Charles Bernard did not have any sons that were named Bernard. He had a grandson named Bernard, but he married someone with the name Evelyn.
