St. Amant - heritage

I've done some research as to the history of the name and the roots of the St. Amant name. Its an Acadian name (New Brunswick, Canada). During the early 1700's, St.Amants came from France to New Brunswick and were a part of the Acadian French colony until the French and Indian war. That is when the English took over the region and flushed the French out. From here, many Acadians (St.Amants) went south to Louisiana.

Originally from France, I read that someone stated that the families are from the south eastern coast of France. Specifically, Nice, France.
