She doesn't seem to have had a happy life, probably due to her father. She joined the Sisters of Charity Order (St. Vincent de Paul at St. Vincents Villa). This order does not take perpetual vows, but renewed vows every three years or so. Beatrice's sister Alma also joined this order, mother, Nancy, was very proud to have two daughters in the convent. However Beatrice wasn't happy there either. She stayed until her mother died and then got a dispensation and left the convent. She then worked as a practical nurse. At some point she went on a double date with Charles Heyart, his brother John, and John's (wife) then girlfriend Regina Salliotte. Regina was the daughter of Eli and Gertrude (St. Amant) Salliotte. Later Beatrice married Charles. She had two pregnancies, three boys and was pregnant again, she became quite ill. Beatrice's sister Alma offered to take care of the three boys at the orphanage at St. Vincents Villa, until Beatrice was well again. The boys stayed at the orphanage for 2 1/2 - 3 months. Around 1910, Felix was in Montana working for the Anaconda Mining Co. Felix abused Beatrice (beat her with a razor strop). Several of the girls became nuns in hopes of redeeming the family and saving their father. Nancy had to sell off pieces of the St. Amant farm a bit at a time to support the family because Felix never sent money after leaving the family to themselves. He is said to have died while drunk, he climbed a railroad tower in Wyandotte and fell to his death.
