As you may realize, the name St. Amant is considered Acadian, and the 2 branches of the family probably resulted from the deportations of the mid 1700's. My paternal grandmother was a St. Amant (Victoria St. Amant, m. Charles Pinette, son of Noe Pinette), from the Sly Brook side of Eagle Lake, ME, actually New Canada Plantation just south of Fort Kent. Her mother was a Depres, from the same area. I believe her parents were married at Ste. Luce Church in Frenchville, ME, considered the "Mother Church" for that area.

I am looking for information on Zebulon St. Thomas AKA Eusebe St. Amand who married Sophia Michaud on 17 May 1880 in Fort Kent, Maine. I think his parents were Francois St. Amant and Euphrosine St. Germaine. Zebulon/Eusebe lived in Fort Kent in the 1880 census, and Eagle Lake in the 1910 census. In 1900 he showed up in the "Township 17" census (perhaps Eagle Lake?) Their daughter Phoebe St. Thomas married Dr. Herbert Edwin Wilkinson on 04 Aug 1913 in Eagle Lake, Maine.

F-X is the son of Louis St-Amand and Cécile Ouellet, married in St-Roch-des-Aulnaies, Canada, on 21th August 1810.

I own a house in St. David, Maine (Madawaska) that was built in 1926 by a St. Amant. The property was originally a 200/300 acre potato farm. Does anyone have any information on this family? I would be interested in pictures of the house and property.

(rstamant)We could be related, just don't know how? My Grandfather Ernest St.amant was from Madawaska as well! Grandmother Emily Madore St.Amant. they were married 70 plus years. I do know that he was born in St. David in July of 1900. Dont have the details on my grandmother. My father is on of 4 boys (Joseph Roland St.Amant) eldest brother Arthur, Nelson and Paul. My father also had two sister Luella and Lucila.
to my understanding is that my grandfather drove the bus for the HS, was the janitor and my grand mother cooked for the nuns. They also donated the property behind them in 1941 to the church/nuns due to property tax.
Arthur is still living next to the town green and retired from the paper mill.
