Help! I am stuck and Ive just begun. My grandfather was ELDAGE ST.AMAND (brothers Charlie, Norm, Chris, Freddy, Albert, and Danny) who was born around 1909 in victoria Harbour Ontario Canada. He died around 1963 in Sudbury Ontario. I cannot even get started on tracking my family tree as apparently sometime just before or just after his birth the family surname was changed - but no one seems to know anything about what it was before. If anyone has any info Id greatly appreciate it - feel free to email me at tomlor@sympatico.ca (Lorie)

I've been waiting ever so patiently for a reply back from you. I've sent some info. Don't know if you got it. I found the obituary for Eldage St.Amand from Victoria Harbour. I also found out who his father was and also have a old picture of him with his brothers. I would like to know if you have any other old pictures of these brothers or any other information. Please feel free to e-mail me anytime. Thnk U.

I'm still waiting for your reply. I've found alot of information on the St.Amand lineage from Victoria Harbour. I've followed the line all the way back to Jean Andre in Quebec. He had a son named Louis Andre Dit St.Amand. Louis had several children. If you e-mail me with some more info on your grandfather, then I'll send you the info I have. Pictures would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Debbie,

I have a Louis Andre dit St. Amand in my husband's line. But for his father I have a Jacques Andre. I would be interested in comparing notes if you'd care to write to me.

Hi there-don't know if you are still out there or not. I don't have much info for you just a little tidbit I read today-"On April 13, 1937 the fourth big blaze hit the town.(referring to Victoria Harbour, Ontario) At approximately 7:30pm a fire broke out in the kitchen of Hector St.Amand's home and quickly spread in both directions.
This same fire also burned St. Mary's R. C. Church that same night.
Also in the 1920's there was a Dorsey St Amant employed at the grain elevators.

Sorry I forgot to add my source. It is from the book Victoria Harbour A Mill Town Legacy by Barbaranne Boyer and Michael A. Boyer.
Cheers!
