I just ran across your posting. My family, Wokruh or Okruch is from Rudka. Andrew and (C)Katherine, brother and sister, also came about the same time as your family. They went to Canada and then, Andrew went to Elizabeth NJ and Katherine married and went to Detroit. Since Rudka is such a small village and the families traveled at appoximately the same time, I am wondering if possibly they traveled together. In your research, have you encountered the Wokruch or Okruch name?
My Great Grandfather's family was Greek Catholic and fled because of religious persecution. At least this is what I am told. I was also told that all but my great grandfather and his sister and possilby one other brother were executed in Rudka.
I am trying to find out what happened to (C)Katherine. Who she married and who her children are. The family thinks possibly she married a man named Michael. Not sure of his last name, story is that he changed it at some point.
