Hi!
I am glad to see that a message regarding the "SQUARE" name was posted today. I live in the state of Louisiana, city of Hammond. The Square name descended from several generations of my ancestors in escape of slavery. When you write back, please share some information about your family. Our race is Black, even though we have numerous family members who are of other races and nationalities. (Praise the Lord!) I am a pastor/minister so my message uses this phrase. I look forward to hearing from you very soon.
Merry Christmas and New Year, Rev. Mark A. Square BA

i am trying to find out about my family's history it so happens we are african american and our surname is Square (although i am mulotto). we reside in Wisconsin. I cant seem to find anything out about my family. my grandfather was eddie lee square who passed in 1999 his father was calvin square who was shot in the back and killed in 1946 his mother was mary square who died sometime back then also. they lived in alabama and that's all i really know about my family. so not really sure about our roots would LOVE to find out more about the Square name and where we came from. i also know that the courthouse that contained the records of my greatgrandfather and grandmother burned down years ago so the records might have been burned i was told. i also know that they are both buried in unmarked graves.

With all do respect,
I need you to not be so narrow-minded. The Square family has a history that dates back to the 1700's in and out of the US. I was always raised to know the Square family history. We are not just Black Americans. And all races decended from Africa, but migration to food source led all peoples to settle elsewhere. The Square family was one such group. We are of many races and not just Black. I am the sixth generation in the US of the Square family that settled in Texas. You should contact me, because I know all the family in Louisiana. I know the Square family lineage period. My grandfather who died recently, Herbert James Square was my teacher of this family. I would love to tell you where we came from and where we settled in the US. Please contact me.

Hello,
My mother's maiden name was Square, and they came from Smith County in Texas. I remember my uncles saying they went to a family reunion in Louisiana.

Hope to hear from you.

Hello,
I would like to hear from you. My mother's maiden name was Square, and they came from East Texas (Smith County). I have heard stories about whites who thought they were related to them, but they did not know them.

Would love to hear from you.
