This group has always had me befuddled. I know the parents married at East Stonehouse and some of my SQUANCEs moved down to the Plymouth area around that time. However, their Thomas, born 1782 was buried aged 24 in 1806 - he died of consumption.
I'm inclined to think that this was in fact a Thomas QUANCE, who, like many Thomases before him became a Thomas SQUANCE when the priest/curate heard his name spoken. However, I have no proof of this. I have never been able to locate a death for either Thomas or Hannah either.
