Hi! I vaugely recall meeting your Grandma! My Grandpa, James or Jim, was one of the siblings that came across from Scotland. He was the first boy, so he took over the family farm in Reaburn. The family moved there after living in Wpg for several years after they first arrived. I think Mina was one of the oldest girls? Did she stay in Wpg when the family moved to the farm?
My Mom is planning a trip to Scotland too. I will ask her if Betty-Lou, Elizabeth's(Beth) daughter, knows where it is, as she has traveled over and done some research. I just checked to see if I had her # handy, as my Mom was just out visiting her not too long ago. I'll get back to you!
With my Grandparents living on the family farm, all the family used to come out to visit regularily. Actually, Uncle Frank kept his bees at thier place in Warren, MB after they left the farm.
My Grandmother just passed away this past August. She was the last of that generation. I have many happy memories of being at their place with Aunt Milly (Uncle Bill) (second youngest born in Canada) and Uncle Frank (Aunt Nancy) visitng. The four youngest (Jim, Frank, Edith & Milly) were very close, as they were the last of kids on the farm. They spent a great deal of time together. Edith and her husband were murdered by the hired-hand when my Mom was 8 years old.
Any way, I will check into the farm thing tomorrow.
I'm happy to make your aquaintance.
By the way, where do you live? My Mom and I live in Brandon, MB.
Cathy
