Perhaps of interest to you is to type in - on Google - Elgin, Morayshire (a site should come up with local records). You can also add Scotland after Morayshire but I doubt if it is necessary. I typed in Dallas, Morayshire (this is where my ancestors came from - just like the name Dallas, Texas!). Perhaps the name Auldearn or another village is in your ancestry - try that too. Sometimes you find something by accident!
Hope this of some help. Squair is a Scottish name and they do have a connection with Morayshire and Edinburgh - perhaps some of your family?
