Hi William,
Thanks for the tip!
I was telling my Mother about the recent posts, and as luck would have it, she was recently visiting a cousin who has done some research.
We have some of the same names, but different birth years. Betty-Lou feels that she is missing some info., but this is what she found.
There were three siblings: Hugh Squair b.1775
Elspet Squair b. 1773
Robert Squair b. ?
The birthdates are a bit off from what you have, but they seemed to use the same names a lot, so who knows.
Robert is my Great, Great, Great Grandfather.
Robert married Elspet M Watson in 1818.
Their children were: James b. 1819
Janet b. 1820
Isabella b. 1822
Anne b. 1824
Robert b.1826
John b. 1829
George b. 1832
George was my Great Great Grandfather. He married Jane Ross. Their children were:
George Watson
Jane MacIntosh
Duncan Ross
Robert Bain
Alexander
James
For some reason, Mom didn't have their birthdates.
James was my Great Grandfather. He married Elizabeth Bain.
Both Duncan and James immigrated to Canada.
Thanks again for your info. It looks like there could be a connection. I watched a travel show not too long ago about Auldearn. Isn't it a big whiskey making area. They were showing the Whiskey Festival. When my Grandfather, James Alexander was born in 1902, he was very tiny. He was also the first son following 8 girls. They wrapped him in cotton, put him in a shoebox on the edge of the oven door(or near the oven) and fed him whiskey through an eye-dropper! Only in Scotland!
