I'm the grand-daughter of her brother, James Squair. My Mom and Grandma talk about visting your Grandma, and about the twins...would that be you? I'm trying to remember the story. My Mom has always wondered what happened to your part of the family.
Message back or contact me directly, as I know my Mom would love to hear from you!

yes that is me. My father was Bill ROund and i think that his cousin Stuart Squair was the best man at his wedding. My mother Eve lives in Victoria where i grew up. Eilleen and Dorreen (the twins) were not really about too much in our lives but i think they may live in the North West Territories. I live in BC in a small town in the rockies. And you? Where are you?

I'm Maureen, another of Elsie Squair's grandaughters. Nope we arent the twins.

They are the daughters of Elsie's daughter Doreen who died in childbirth. They went into the North decades ago.

We are Elsie's son Bill (eley) Round's daughters. Our dad was a pioneer film-maker. I remember my dad's favourite Aunt was his mum's sister Dodie. Any idea who her offspring are?

I have located my dad's cousin Stuart Squair's line in the U.S.

Please tell your mum hello from Maureen in Edmonton.

Hi Maureen,
Nice to meet you! I have been talking to my Mom, Diane and she and her sister Barbara are very excited that I have found you on this message board, as your Dad is one of the only cousins that she never met. My grandpa took over the homestead, and most everyone one else came to visit...many of them on a regular basis. I too have many memories of my great aunties and Uncle Frank. I never met your Nana.
I remember Dodie and her very curly hair. Mom will probably answer that question...Georgina is in Headingly MB, and isn't well, Alma passed away, but one of her sons Dick Kelly lives in Calgary and stays in contact with Mom, Pat lives in AB I think, and Dodi's son lived in Gimli MB. His Daughter Norma Bailey is also quite the film maker, and is actually the Director of Falcoln Beach, the Canadian drama that is shot at Grand Beach, MB. Talant must run in the family...too bad I didn't get any.
My Mom and I both live in MB. My Mom is in Brandon, and I'm moving at the end of the school year...not sure where as of yet. I have a brother, Robert, who lives in Regina with his wife Teresa and their 2 children, Derek & Mark.
Please e-mail either myself at cathygrain@hotmail.com or my Mom granger_diane@hotmail.com. Mom would be able to fill in any info. you want or at least know someone who can.
Also, I'm interested in who Stuart is, as I've never heard of him.
Thanks,
Cathy

Hi It has been so exciting to find a couple of lost members of our family. As Cathy told you, my sister and I were raised on the home farm and saw lots of the family that lived in Wpg as everyone came out to visit. I now live in Brandon,MB and my sister Barb lives in Lethbridge. Our mother moved to Brandon about ten years ago to be closer. She is now in a personal care home, and is the last member of that generation. I always regretted never meeting your Dad as he was my only cousin that I never met. We had many pictures taken by him in Mom's photo album. Of course, the Round/Squair story is a family legend. I look forward to further correspondence.

We have been browsing(accidentally) on this site! I have an Elsie Squair on my family tree - born 1856 in Auldearn, Nairnshire. Her parents were James Squair - born 1853 and Eliza Guthrie - born c1829.
There appears to be an historical connection with the Squairs and the Elgin area.
My mother's maiden name was Emily McGregor Squair.
Look forward to hearing from you.
William
