I do know her father and at least her mother's first name. Her father is Lysander Sprague and his wife was Abigail (whose last name I don't know). They are found in 1850 in Stephenson Co., IL, with 4 children. In 1840, Lysander Sprague was in Houndsfield, Jefferson Co., NY.

BTW, her full name is Chloe Almira/Elmira Sprague. Her first husband was Alexander Hemphill, and she is found on the 1860 census with him in Rock Grove, Floyd Co., IA. Her daughter Olive Hemphill was born there 23 Sep 1861, but by 1863, Alexander Hemphill made a second marriage to Martha Workman in the same county.

Meanwhile Almira, apparently divorced, married George Hobbs in Jefferson Co., NE ... and daughter Olive Hemphill is found living with George and Almira Hobbs in 1870 and 1880.

Daughter Olive Hemphill md. Alden S. Luce in Thayer Co., NE, on 24 Jun 1883, and it is the license for this marriage which proves that Olive's parents were Alexander Hemphill and Almira Sprague.

This Luce/Hemphill marriage is witnessed by Lewis L. Sprague. He is a brother to Almira Sprague Hobbs and uncle to the bride Olive Hemphill (Lewis is in the 1850 Stephenson Co., IL, household of Lysander and Abigail Sprague as well). Lewis L. Sprague lived out his life in Rose Creek, Thayer Co., NE. Lewis Sprague's wife was Sabra Luce.

There is another brother, William Sprague, who also lived in Jefferson Co., NE, until he died in 1875. His wife was Fanny Andrews.
