For those of you who aren't aware, Ancestry.com is offering relatively inexpensive DNA testing for members. FamilyTreeDNA and 23andme also offer a variety of DNA tests.
One of the uses of test results is to help (in some cases) identify close and distant relatives.
If you are an Ancestry.com member, you may want to consider having DNA testing done as not only may it help you hook up with relatives with shared ancestors, it also will (and to a greater degree as more and more people are tested) help pointpoint where some of your more distant ancestors lived. I've had my DNA tested (both mtDNA and autosomal) and so far, have found it worthwhile in helping pinpoint other genealogists with shared heritage/s.
If any of you want to discuss DNA testing and/or Spracklin genealogy (as I visited Somerset and Dorset earlier this year), please feel free to email me at usamom
