Hello,

I am seeking any information on George W. Spencer and his mother, normally listed as "Maggie," but a couple places as Lissey and once as Nolia, nee Bowen. George W. Spencer was born about 1902 in Ohio, and his mother Maggie Bowen was born about 1879 in Ohio. George's father was George E. Spencer, born about 1869. Maggie Bowen and George E. Spencer were married Nov 26, 1900.

George W. Spencer attempted to marry a Lillie Drake in December 1919, but the record says refused because Lillie was only 17. I assume they got married later because George W. is married to a Lillie in the 1920 and 1930 census.

Maggie Bowen was married once before her marriage to George Spencer, to someone with a surname Armstrong who left her a widow. She married an Edward S. Bowen in 1909, William McClanahan in 1916, and an Andrew C. Day in 1920. The last time I can find her is in the 1930 census as Maggie Day living with George W. and Lillie Spencer (she is listed as married but her husband lives somewhere else). This is the last time I can find either George or Maggie. I was wondering if anyone has any information on either.

Maggie Bowen was the daughter of Aaron Bowen (1849-1930) and Mary Johnson (1839-1929) both born and died in Ohio. Her only full brother was my ancestor, Charles Bowen (1869-1958), and a half brother through her mother, William Crothers or Bowen.
