I am researching the family name of SPEARING from the Wedmore and Wookey area, my g-gf Benjamin was born at Wookey 1833 he had 5 brothers and 3 sisters there names were Robert, Joseph, William, Edward, John, Leah, Hester and Elizabeth. Parents John Spearing and Margaret Bull with John's line back to William Speringe and Mary Rodford of Litton. Am interested in developing the branches of the family and in particular the SPEARING/SPERRING link (if any). Would appreciate any help and be willing to pass on all research so far in an effort to expand the family, have made contacts and some photo's are available. Benjamin joined the Army (54th regiment of Foot), served in India and settled in Bermuda, how he arrived there is an enigma. I will settle for now on finding family links in the Somerset area!
