Hi Anne,
Yes we did get your Christmas letter, thank you, and were sorry to hear you have both been unwell recently. I have been getting back into the family tree research again and have now been looking and marking records which confirm what we already know, like marking BMD and census details as well as Baptism details. If you have a look at my family tree (which I shall send you a link for) you may find more information. Currently working through the census records and have only touched on the Canadian side of things, but will be investigating that in depth soon.
One of the interesting thigns I found recently was that when my grandmother married her mother-in-law told her than the husband and been wanted to be taken away by a German uncle who owned a suasage factory, which seemed a little strange. But know I have found that uncle, who is German, and with hs'e brothers owned a sausage factory, so interesting stuff. Also discovered that marraige certificates can also tell you what happened to the former partner, ie Ann Jane who married Francis Spacey (b. 1805) in 1827 and who remarried in 1837 and is marked down as a widow. So although I can't find a death record for Francis I now know he died in that ten year period.
regards,
Roger.
