Harietta S. Sowash (Etta) and Philip A. Carr are my gg-grandparents. They produced Mary E. Carr (possibly among others) who is my g-grandmother. Mary E. (Mallie) married James K. Winters and produced a bunch of children, including my maternal grandmother, Nell Rose Winters.

Etta Sowash & Philip Carr were married, then he went off to war. They lost track of each other--she thought he had died in the war and he thought she was not answering his mail, and they married others. Etta married a man with surname Lindsey.
Eventually, as the story goes (and I have an old newspaper clipping reporting on this story), their spouses died and they reunited in old age. Don't know if they remarried, or just got back together.
I would LOVE to know more about Harietta's ancestry (Her mother's name is Mary---which Sowash did she marry?.)
