Hi. Several years ago, while researching my SOHN family of Berks Co., PA, I researched the older MICHAEL SON born circa 1750 and who died ?, probably in Augusta County, Virginia. I haven't had much success in locating his Revolutionary War records, other than the information that I posted several years ago regarding MICHAEL SON and his widow ELIZABETH in Augusta County, VA.
While doing some research on old records of Pennsylvania today, I came across the mention of a GEORGE SOHN who was applying to purchase a Lot in the Town of York in York County, Pennsylvania. This document s dated September 6, 1753. Since I have not made a connection between this GEORGE SOHN and my SOHNS family of Berks County, Pennsylvania, it raises my suspicion regarding a possible connection that the older MICHAEL SON mentioned in Augusta County, Virginia might have to this GEORGE SOHN of York Co., PA. This GEORGE SOHN would be a member of the generation that could be a father of MICHAEL. I am attaching a copy of this 1753 instrument for analysis by other researchers interested in the MICHAEL SON family. Jerry Olinger, February 1, 2015
