Willsboro — Gary A. Sodaro, 76, of Lakeshore Road in Willsboro, died Monday, Nov. 13, 2000, at CVPH Medical Center after a short illness.

He was born in Buffalo on Oct. 20, 1924, the son of Anthony and Angelina (LaPalia) Sodaro.

He was the owner of the Willsboro Lanes for many years, a member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Essex, a member of Iroqois Lodge 715 A&FM in Essex and a member of the Willian Nolan American Legion Post 405 in Willsboro.

As a World War II veteran, he served in the South Pacific Theater with the 6th Army.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Beverly (Heald) Sodaro; two sons and their wives, Gregory and Maureen Sodaro of Franklin, Vt., and David and Diane Sodaro of Canton, Conn.; one daughter and her husband, Lisa and Curt Boardman of Willsboro; six grandchildren, Brian and Alesha Sodaro of Franklin, Vt., Jessica and Katie Sodaro of Canton, Conn., and Nicholas and Arnie Boardman of Willsboro; a sister, Milly Carroll of Buffalo; a niece, who was his goddaughter, Bonita McMorrow of Buffalo; and a brother-in-law and his wife, Arthur and Averill Heald of St. Albans, Vt.

Calling hours will be held at the Huestis Funeral Home on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2000, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Masonic service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at St. John's Church in Essex on Thursday, Nov. 16th, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Reber Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his memory may be made to the Willsboro Rescue Squad.
