Is there anyone out there who is from the Crawford Co. OH Sobers line? I am looking for my Sobers ancestors from Dewitt Clinton Sobers (1857-1950)on back.

HI MY NAME IS LINDA AND I THINK WE MAY BE RELATED TO SOBERS IN OHIO WHO THEN MOVED TO PLYMOUTH PA OR WILKES-BARRE PA WOULD LOVE TO FIND OUT INFO

My Sobers may have come to Ohio from PA. They lived in Crawford Co. OH and that is as far back as I can go. My greatgrandfather was Dewitt Clinton Sobers and I know nothing about his parents and on back.I have ordered a disc of the 1880 Ohio census at the local LDS family history center and hope to get some info from there.If you have anything about the Sobers family I would appreciate having the info. We could be related as Sobers isn't a common name. My Sobers all stayed in Ohio in Fostoria and some went to the Youngstown area and one went to Illinois.Thank you for responding to my inquiry.

my Father Fritz-Gerald Sobers passed away
March 13, on his 68th birthday. In the obituary is
said the I had two bothers Mark, and Gerald and

Linda It's a pleasure to hear from another Sobers. My father was Fritz-Gerald Sobers. He passed away on his 68th birthday March 13, 1992 three weeks after my first child Micheda Ashley Sobers was born. He told me that he had family in Philideliphia to half sister. I haven't meet any of these people.

I am related to this line in that my great-grandmother was Trixie Sobers, sister of Boyd and Graden, who were the children of Wilber Sobers and Irma Jump, of Crawford Co. Wilbur was born in 1871, but I don't know who his father was. My grandmother says that all the Sobers in Crawford Co. were related, but she doesn't remember many names anymore. Perhaps Wilbur was related to Dewitt in some way?

Glad to get your message. I think we are from the same line of Sobers. I think Dewitt b.1857,my greatgrandfather, was the son of Edgar Sobers and Sarah Skeels who were married in Seneca Co. OH in 1855.I did talk to Boyd Sobers quite awhile ago but he was hard to talk to as he is getting up in years.He said his father was Sanford Sobers b.Nov.1859, d.Sept.29,1944 and his mother was Corilla Sweet b.1837,d.1892.I received this info from Nancy Miller (e-mail is stampen@futureone.com)who also gave me this info about your Wilbur Irwin Sobers b.Feb. 2, 1871, d.Dec.29, 1944 and married to Irma Louella Jump. They are buried in the Benton,OH cemetery. I think that Sanford and Edgar may have been brothers so Wilbur and Dewitt would be cousins. Sanford's father was Jacob Sobers and mother was Mary Matrawn
according to Nancy Miller. Dewitt's wife was Emily Jump and I wonder if she was Irma's sister? Please keep in touch and maybe we can help each other get all of this straightened out!
