Does anyone have any information about the Sobers
family? My grandfather's name was Dudley Sobers
who married Christina Hunte. They were both
from Christ Church, Barbados. My grandfather's
grandfather's name was Granville Sobers

My greatgrandfather was Dewitt Clinton Sobers who was born in Seneca Co. Ohio. He married Emma Jump. I am looking for information about his ancestors. I would be interested to hear from anyone also descended from the Ohio Sobers family.

A mistake was made in my previous message. Dewitt Clinton Sobers was born in Crawford Co. Ohio not Seneca Co

Emma(Emily) Jump was from Benton in Crawford Co.OH.She later moved to Fostoria,Seneca Co.OH with her husband Dewitt Clinton Sobers.They were my greatgrandparents.I have all I need on her. I need info on Dewitt,who his parents and ancestors were.

None of the names sound familiar. I do know where Lawton is and may have realatives who live there.But the name is not connected to us. Sorry

While doing a search thru immigrations passenger lists I came across Didley macdonald Sobers from Barbados B.W.I. in 1911 his age on arrival was 20 yrs old. go to the Ellis Island web site its free an type in the surname Sobers you'll find what your looking for there. Hope this helps you.
