Manuel and Emelia Soares were my grandparents, they are from San Miguel Portugal and arrived in Hawaii in 1883, they lived in PunchBowl Hawaii, they lived by a Holy Ghost Church, Manuel was a stone mason and plumber, Emelia
had 6 children that I know of.
Alice Soares Rogers, husband was Frank, no children

Manuel Soares, I didnt know
Jack Soares, died I never knew
Joseph Mason Soares (This was my father)
Vincent Soares, married had one son Robert Soares
They came to San Francisco in 1906, their house was destroyed during the 1906 earthquake, they then moved in a small flat in Oakland, 6 months later my grandfather died of pnemonia, leaving my father being the older brother to help support the family. My grandmother did not speak english, later she did remarry. I read a post from Joyce Dingman, dated 2003, I believe I am a family member.
I have lost contact with cousins, don't know were they are?
