Please would descendents of William Daniel SOAMES please contact me, as my great grandmother was RUTH SOAMES, his sister.
Their father was John George James SOAMES, who baptised my grabndfather just before JGJ died in Nov. 1911.

Ruth has 47 living descendents in the UK. I am doing the family tree for the SOAMES side of the family, based in southern England.

Ta very much. Look forward to getting an e-mail

Hello there, my father Gordon Robert Soames was born in Dover in Kent (southern UK) and is one of six siblings. His father (my grandfather, now deceased), also called Gordon Robert Soames, ran away from his home in Dumfries, Scotland and married what was termed then a commoner called Gwen.

From what I understand my grandfather's family had family members living in the US and I do believe they owned/ran newspaper groups in the US.

Wish I knew more.

Regards
Tina Soames

My late grandfather, Gordon Robert Soames, moved to the South of England from Dumfries in Scotland around eighty years ago. Don't know whether their is a history there.

I am checking on my Great Grand mother, Charlotte Jane Soames, who was born in Canterbury, Kent in 1875. Her father was William Soames,no middle name listed, a bricklayer(mason) of 90 Broad Street, Canterbury, according to the 1871 Census.
