Ocala, April 11 - A telegram was received in this city Tuesday morning announcing the death of Mrs. Mary Snyder, which occurred in Louisville, Ky., the same morning at 4 o'clock.

Mrs. Snyder had been ill for some weeks in a hospital in Louisville, and the news of her death was not unexpected by her relatives and friends here.

Mrs. Snyder first came to Ocala in 1883 and while making investments here did not make this her home, but was a frequent and always welcome visitor.

The deceased was a sister of Judge Richard McConathy, mayor of Ocala, and was first known here as Mrs. Bacon and afterwards married Mr. Thornton Snyder, of Sacramento, Cal, where they resided until the death of mr. Snyder. Mrs. Snyder then returned to Louisville, her girlhood home and had her apartments at the Galt House.

Mrs. Snyder was a woman of beautiful character and most amiable and estimable qualities. She was a very sincere and devoted Christian and was active in church work; was a generous contributor to the building of the Methodist church in this city, and her death will be severely lamented by her friends wherever she was known. Judge and Mrs. McConathy have gone to Louisville to be present at the funeral.
