Re: Relationship of Peter Snyder (b. 1820) to Peter Snyder (b. c.1793)
I have had an opportunity to check out some of the land transactions mentioned in previous posts. Here are some of the things that I found out that are relevant to this discussion.
1. Peter and Betsey Snyder did live in Bath Township, Allen County, Ohio, at least for a brief time. On 8 Feb 1839, they sold land to their son Cicero for one dollar and were described as "of Bath Countyy of Allen".

So it is likely that they were in Bath Township when Peter Snyder (b. 1820) arrived there in early 1839.
2. Peter and Betsey Snyder had left Bath Township and returned to Lordstown, Trumbull Co., OH by 16 Dec 1839. On that date, Cisero sold the land mentioned above back to Peter (b. c.1793) and not to Peter (b.1820) as I had speculated previously.

Although the deed doesn't specify who the Peter was who purchased the land, it was undoubtedly Peter (b. c.1793) because a witnesses to the deed signing in Trumbull County was Lewis Snyder, son of Peter (b. c.1793), and Peter (b. 1820) would have been in Bath Township at the time. Peter (b. c.1793) later sold the land to others before it was purchased by Peter (b. 1820) in 1849. It is still possible that this was the farm that he lived on and rented.
