Hi again,

All Snöbohm's are related, and are all descendants of Oluff Lauritzen who lived in the 1500's Gotland.

You mention Alfred Teodor Snobohm, who lived in the 1800's so there are several generations in between where you're connecting to.

Oluff owned an estate called Ryftes Gård in Fole parish on Gotland. At the time it was custom to take the surname after where they lived, and Latin was fashionable, so that combination resulted in the name Ryftenius.

Oluff had two sons, Oluff Oluffsen and Hans Oluffsen, of which the oldest took the name Ryftenius. Oluff Oluffsen Ryftenius had a son, Peder Oluffsen Ryftenius who is the forefather of the Snobohm family.

Peder Oluffsen Ryftenius bought an estate called Lilla Snögrinda (translated to Sno Gate) in Klinte. His firstborn, Olof Pedersen was the first who had the name Snöbohm (also translated to Sno Gate).

The source of this information is put together by Alfred Teodor Snöbohm (1819-1901), Erik Valentin Snöbohm (1895-1987), and information added by Sven-Ragnar Snöbohm until 1995. Susan Hedlund, in Yosemite has supplied information about family in the USA, and Euriqueta Snöbohm from South America.

The information is hard copy, so I'll type it into a document and send to you.

I'm trying to work out in what generation my branch is related to the Hablingbo branch. There are still Snöbohm's around in Hablingbo and I have found them on Facebook. They are trying to help too...

I hope this helps you a little.
/Susanna
