For excellent, detailed information regarding the CHRISTIAN SNIDOW family lineage, refer to Chapter 21 of this book: A Givens-Hall Family History from Pre-Revolutionary Times to 1970, by Dorothy Hall Givens. [Printed by Commonwealth Press, Inc., First and Berkley Streets, Radford, Virginia 24141, c. 1971. Library of Congress Catalogue No: 79-154695.] The entire chapter is 37 pages (pp. 580 – 617) and traces all of the descendants of Christian Snidow (originally Schneider) and his wife Susanna Margretta, who sailed with his two brothers (Matheis and Jacob) from England to America in 1729 on the ship “Allen”. This book traces Christian Snidow's family line from their roots in northern Switzerland to Holland, England, Philadelphia, Landcaster County, Virginia and beyond. Complete with photographs, estate appraisals, quotes of wills, and an account of an Indian attack on Snidow children playing at New River.
