Hi,
My name is Ferdisha Snagg. I live in Cherry Hill, St. George's Grenada. My grandfather was a Snagg. He passed away in 2002 on his return to Canouan in January of that year. There are a number of Snaggs here in Grenada, including my own family. I know my grandfather was from Canouan. I'm not sure of the details of his heritage but he did explain to us once something we had read in a grenadine boating magazine about his father/grandfather formerly owning the island before they were cheated of it by some JP.
I myself have never been to Canouan but my aunts and mother have.
Hope to hear from you. We must all be one big family I suppose, since Snagg is not a popular surname as far as I know.

Hi, my name is Patricia Snagg. I was born and raised in South Florida. My Dad's name was Norman O'Connell Snagg, he was born in St. Vincent. His mother's name was Roslyn (Camay) Snagg. That is all I know about my family. I have a huge desire to find out and meet more of my family memebers. Any info would be most appreciated. We were first generation West Indians born in the United States. I would love to hear more on the family history. Thank you in advance.

There are lots of Snaggs in the Grenadines. Your ancestor most likely came from England. There was a Snagg that came from England to Canouan with my ancester Benjamin Compton who was a shipbuilder. His name was Sir William Snagg. I called a relative in Canouan and sh'll be checking church records. However, I understand the records aren't very complete. I live outside Orlando.

Hey,

My name is Chad Nurse, my grandmother is Claris Snagg from Grenada. She moved to Trinidad as a youth with her siblings. I know she still has family in Grenada as she was there to visit some of them in March. I'm just interested in getting in touch with some of the Snaggs from Grenada since I have a good connection with my Trini roots (I'm from America).

My name is Claudette Snagg my family is from canouan, I grew on that lovely little island before coming to England at the age of 12. My dad Edgar Snagg has retired back to Canouan some years ago. I too am quite familiar with the story of the island belonging to the Snagg but was taken over by the St Vincent government however, only on lease for 99 years which has long expired, but again never enqired about the validity of this story.
