Re: Snaddens from Bo'Ness
Because my Euphemia was born in 1851, I've plumped for her parents marrying in 1850. From there I go back two more generations to John Snaddon marrying Anne/Agnes Robertson on 21 Sept 1792 in Bo'ness. Any thoughts?

Also... Yes, I'd like to compare notes re: Snadden & Heggie. Can you email direct or do we carry on like this? Thanks.

Re: Snaddens from Bo'Ness
I am researching, on behalf of my fatherinlaw, his family. I have a John Sneddon marrying an Elizabeth Sneddon but have no idea when. Their children are Janet born in 1806, Margaret b 1808, David b 1814 and Alexander b 1821. Is there any connection with any of the ones your have come across? Would be grateful of your assistance as I'm the blind leading the blind here! Just a learner!

Re: Snaddens from Bo'Ness
There are a large number of families with the surname "Sneddon" in Bo'ness. Also Grants (my family) and Hamiltons. My cousin, Archie Grant, has been researching our family tree for many years and has often been on the wrong track because of this common surname thing. It doesn't help that they name the children after their parents and grandparents either! Most families have a nickname they're known by, which doesn't really help with the research either. This hasn't really answered your question of which family you should be looking at. You could go to Scotlands People and try to figure out which of the two couples are your Euphemia Snaddon's parents by finding Euphemia's birth in the Parish Register. Cheers Diana
