Need info on the Smoak Cemertery. My Great Grandmother was Mildred Maxcy Fender and I'm trying to locate her grave. Found out that Daniel Overstreet Fender, which is her son, is buried in the Smoak's cemetery, but don't know where in the cemetery. Tried to call the church but can't get anyone. Tried to locate Mildred and her husband Francis Frank Fender buried sites. I feel that they are buried in the Smoaks cemetery also. Frank's mother was a Smoak .His mother name was Mary Elizabeth Smoak and her husband was James Hansford Fender. My father was Thomas Alfred Fender, his father was Thomas Jefferson Fender, and his father was Francis "Frank" Fender, which would be my Great Grandfather. On my mother's side, my Grandmother Dice was a Smoak before she married. Her father was Daniel McMichael Smoak, his father was Lewis W. Smoak, his was William G. Smoak, his was Andrew Smoak, his Johann Georg Rauch, his Hans Daniel Rauch, and then Hans Peter Rauch.
We are really kin to the Smoaks both ways.
Hope you can help me.
My Sister and myself have traveled three or four times down that way, hoping to find closure, but no such luck.
Please e-mail me back.
Thank you,
J.Fender Langley
