Thomas Andrew Smith, 86 years, two months and 14 days old, died in Hollis on Monday, August 31st, 1936, after an illness o! several weeks of Bright's disease.
Mr. Smith was born in Boone I county, Arkansas, on the 17th day of June, 1870, and had been an active and useful man up until
several weeks ago. At one time he served as guard at the reform- atory at Granite, Oklahoma, He was known to almost every man, woman and child in the county, having lived here since 1919.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Thirsey Harden, Shrevesport, La., and Mrs. Grace Taylor, Granite, Oklahoma, and six sons, Charlie o! Hobart; Troy, Roy, Bill, George, all of Hollis and Ralph of Shrevesport, La., and one sister, Mrs. W. C. King, Gould, Oklahoma.
Funeral services were conducted at the Dryden Methodist Church at three o'clock. Tuesday afternoon, September 1, 1936, With Rev. T. M. Moore, pastor of the First Methodist Church of Hollis; officiating. Flowers from friend and relatives covered the casket which was bourne to the last resting place in the Dryden Cemetery in charge of the J. M. Coley directors.
