Tom,
Digging into the Smaha family history has gotten very interesting. Although I haven't made any concrete connections, it's been interesting to know that some of the Smaha's are of Lebanese descent. From what I always knew before this was that they were all from Bohemia. A lady from California who was married to a Smaha told me that her husband had done some research and was told that the Smaha's originally came from Scandinavia by ship to Italy and went inland and settled in Bohemia. Some then went on to trade centers, such as Lebanon. Although I haven't made any direct connections, I think that we are probably connected in some way. My grandfather was born in Chamberlain, South Dakota. They lived there for several years and I don't know if they had realitives there at the time. My grandparents are gone and there is not anyone who would remember that I could ask anymore. Thank you for your information. If I learn anything new, I will repost.
