I believe my great grandmother was Margaret Smack, born 1852 in and around Berlin Maryland. Her son, was my grandfather Joseph Henry Davis of the same area. I find a listing for a Margaret Smack born around 1852, from other census records, but no reference to her family of origin...anyone know who her parents might have been...I am stuck

Re: Margaret Smack born 1852
I know it's been a while since you posted this, but I do have a question for your regarding Margaret. Was Margaret African American or White? If she was white we're probably related and at some point i might be able to help you figure out some info

Re: Margaret Smack born 1852
That is where my father's family is from and where he grew up. His name Johna Davis...his father and mother..Alice Mitchell and Joseph Davis, his father Sidney Davis and Margaret Smack...in fact the house that my father grew up in is still there on friendship road, my first cousin lives there

Re: Margaret Smack born 1852
Most of my family has relocated to the Sussex county Delaware area other than a select few. My great great grandfather Calvin Smack was from the Berlin area and several of the Smack family members were from that area which was why I said we were probably related some way or another.
