Re: Cyrus Smack & Maggie Smack
I realize this thread is very, very old, but in case anyone is still looking for information on Cyrus & Maggie Smack:
Cyrus L. Smack was the son of Egbert 'Edgar' Smack and Hannah Hudson. (I realize that Cyrus isn't found in any of the online lists of Edgar and Hannah's children, but his death certificate makes it clear that it's true.)
I believe that his wife was Maggie Hales, who was orphaned sometime between 1870 & 1880. The LDS concurs, but I'm still looking for proof.
They had five children, four of whom lived: Ellen E. Smack (b.1890-d.?), Frederick L. Smack (b.1895-d.1978), Albert Thomas Smack (b.1899-d.1970), and Frank A. Smack (b.1901-d.1988). (My daughter is descended from Cyrus & Maggie via their son Frank.)
Frederick and Maggie are both buried at Betheden Cemetery. I suspect that Cyrus is also buried there, as well as their grandaughter -my daughter's great-grandmother- Lillian Smack Hydrick. It's also possible that other Smacks from this line are buried there. Unfortunately, I live a bit too far away to go on a phishing expedition, so if anyone can confirm that I'd be extremely grateful!
Email me if you have questions or info.
