Matthew S. Sleasman, 42, Duncansville, passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday.

He was born in Uniontown, son of Pastor Earl and Donna (Grubb) Sleasman. He married Rachel A. Neely on May 14, 2005, in Roaring Spring.

Surviving are his beloved wife and 11-month-old son, Aidan, whom he adored; a sister, Melissa Neely and husband, Stephen, of Pittsburgh; three nephews: Evan, Joel and Liam; his parents of Pittsburgh; and his parents-in-law, Pastor Jon and Betty Jane Neely of Altoona.

Matthew was a graduate of Youth with a Mission in California and also attended Penn State University. He was a member of Bare Memorial Church of God, Roaring Spring, where he taught Sunday school and helped with the youth. He served in the U.S. Army.

Matthew enjoyed art, home improvement projects and history and was an outdoorsman.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Sorge Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg (www.sorgefuneralhome.com), and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, 2011, at Bare Memorial Church of God, Roaring Spring, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. by Pastor Mark Halliday. Interment will be at East Sharpsburg Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Bare Memorial Church of God, Roaring Spring, or in care of the family for his son Aidan's education fund.
