I am taking a long shot chance on a surname misspelling. I have these two as Slack brothers, but Slacke is a possibility. They have been mentioned at considerable length in my g-g-grandfather's journal (David Cooper), soon to be published. I would very much like to find out more about them if possible. They were very good friends and companions to my relative at the time, traveling with him through some serious adventures enroute to the California Gold Rush (1850, Parker French wagon train). The younger of the two was Charles, apparently born around 1830 in Norwich, Vermont. I would very much like to share some wonderful stories I have about them.
