Hello Lional, thankyou for your reply sorry I have not been able to answer my pc has been broken.

My Granfather full name was Johannes (known as John) Martin Slabbert. His DOB was either 24 June or 25 Nov 1894 & he died 4 June 1964. He was born in South Africa & I have been advised he was a triplet and only two of them lived. He then run away from home at age of about 16 or 17 to join the army. He was then injured in the war and that is when he was brought back to the UK to be treated & that is where he then stayed.

He was married twice, his first wife left him & disappeared without trace while he was recovering in hospital from an operation (due to an accident he had while working in the UK). He then married again to my Grandmother May Victoria Burt, she was approx ten years younger than him. They had three children including my Mum. Althought they had to wait 7 years to marry as first wife had disappeared so they were married after the three children were born in approx the late 1930s.

I have the original history off Floris Slabbert travelling to Cape Town on the Ship the Sion but not the part in the middle joining it to my Grandad.

I also have the name Martyn Odsthuizen (this may be his mother) I am not sure.

My family tree is in Genes reunited & my email address is lynn.brook@tiscali.co.uk.

Thankyou very much for any help

Kind regards
Lynn
