John L. Skipper/Skipworth who married Lucretia
Hawkins was the son of Nathan
Skipper.
Nathan supposedly had 9 children, but as far as I know, only 3 have been identified: John L, Joseph and Jacob.
My Richard Skipper/Skipworth was born abt 1777. The only census that gives a birthplace says SC, but this is the 1850 mortality schedule and no way to know who gave the information or if it is accurate. He died 1850 in
Jackson Co IL, living in Monroe/Cumberland and Warren Counties in
KY from before 1820 until abt 1841 when he migrated to IL. He married Sarah ____ abt 1802 and their first two children were probably born in NC ( census info varies on this). He may have been in TN between leaving NC and arriving in
KY.
I have been trying to find any information that would place him as another son of Nathan's.
