My apology---I show James B. Skipworth, born abt. 1805 and Mary Polly Rich born abt. 1808, to be the parents of Jessie McGuire Skipworth. I indicate some possibility of James B. Skipworth's parents being John Skipworth or Skipper and Lucretia Hawkins.
This is where I am stalled. I have had no success with American Indian heritage support/documentation.

Please send me your e-mail. I have info for you. I am not sure if the James I have and the James B. you are looking for are the same person. I never had a middle name or letter for him. However the parents are the same/

Shirley, The information I have from OK is that Willis Goodman died there. (Bennington, Indian Territory, Brian County,Oklahoma) One of the Grandfathers married an Indian woman. From the names I can tell which one it was. If this is any information you might use, please e-mail me and let me know more.

In checking further Willis was born in Tenn. Although the area is not the same as you were mentioning there might be some connection. I have some holes in the names as well as the dates and places for some of the Skipworth's. I have a Robert E. Skipwroth but no other information about him.

My ggg-grandfather was James B. Skipworth born 1805 and died 1870. He married Mary Polly Rich. They had a son, my gg-grandfather, Jessie mcGuire Skipworth who married Nancy Jane Burnett. Jessie and Nancy had my great-grandmother, Skibbie Skipworth, who married John Lee Robert Smith and they had my paternal grandfather, Hurchel Littrell Smith. There is some speculation that John Skipworth or Skipper and Lucretia Hawkins are the parents to James B. Skipworth. There is no documentation to support they are his parents. Any help you could supply would be most definitely appreciated and needed. Thank you, Dawn

I am going to refer you to Sharon Bart who may have more information on the Skipworth family prior to Willis. I had gotten the info of the Skipper family from her. Sharon has done more research in that are than I have. I hope to connect with Sharon on her findings soon. SwisherTX@aol.com I hope this has been helpful and keep me posted of your findings.

Hello,
I am descended from James B., and have info on his family, though who his parents were is still up the air. There is no proof that he was connected to John Skipper and Lucretia Hawkins. Some of James and Mary Rich Skipworth's children migrated to Fannin Co TX,from Jackson Co.TN, including my gg-grandfather, Ausman B.,b 1850. One of James' sons, Jesse McGuire, left Fannin Co after his wife, Nancy Burnett, died and was in OK, and he and several of his children and their families are found on the 1900 census for Chickasaw Nation IT. Who are you looking for information about ?
