Dear Kim,
I just happened upon your posted message. George and Tanie are my 1 great grandparents. I know very little about them but here is what I do have: George Ambrose Skipworth (Amber), b. 13 Oct. 1865, Burnside, Cumberland Co., Ky. (1806, Tn. per 1850 census), married 1886, Ky., d. 14 Feb. 1957, Tom Bean, Grayson Co., Tx. Death Certifi. 14441; coronary thrombosis & senility. I have a photograph of his death certif. He is buried in Van Alstyne Cem., Van Alstyne, Grayson Co., Tx. I also have his Obit. His parents were George Washington & Laura Vaughan Skipworth. He married Tanie Bell Upchurch (Fannie/Granny). She was b. 1 Jan. 1870, Burksville, Cumberland Co., Ky. She was the New Years baby there. She d. 25 Oct. 1969, Sherman, Grayson Co., Tx. She died of a flu just short of her 100th. birthday. She died in a Sherman, Tx. hospital--only the 2nd. time in her life she had been in a hospital. The 1st. time was due to a kidney ailment. She is buried in Van Alstyne also. I have her obit, & a photograph of her Death Certif.-25405. To the best of my knowledge her parents were William Thomas Upchurch and Victoria Bow (Vic). They had 12 children and I have a children's register (11 sons/1 dtr.). Their son Charlie James Skipworth, Sr. was my grandfather. I have a photograph of them and 10 of their 12 children, and a photo of son John Lee's birth certif., and 2 or 3 other photos.
I would greatly appreciate any more information, & photos, that you have on them & their children. Also, if you have information on Amber's ancestors through and ''''beyond'''' Richard and Sarah, I would be soooooo very greatful!!!!!
Thanks,
Marilyn Skipworth Streetman
