I am Marilyn Skipworth Streetman. I am from the James B. Skipworth line. I happened upon information that says Jess M. Mc Guire Skipworth has a 1896, (Cherokee) Citizenship Application, ca. 1896-ca.1897. The item is from Record Group 75: Records of the Bureau of Indian Affairs, 1793-1989. I believe it originated in Oklahoma. Do you know IF he was accepted for citizenship or rejected??
If he was accepted then I will order his application. If he was rejected then my money will be best spent on another family member.

I too am a descendant of James B Skipworth. I have an Indian Application of George Washington Skipworth this application was rejected. Of all the applications I have in my collection all were rejected and all were applied through Ryall Rich who applied in TN about 25 years earlier than G W Skipworth...these applications have alot of family data.

Do you have Jesse Mc Guire Skipworth's Indian Application among your collection?? If not I can order it and see IF he passed. I could then send you a copy if you do not have it.
Do you have a site with your Indian Applications posted?? I would love to have them for the information you mentioned as well as to make my Ancestors Books more complete.
