Sorry, but there's not much more detail on Susanna Welling in Warren's _30 Generations_ book. (Don't let that dissuade you if you would like to buy it for the Skidmore information, though - of which there is much, much more! :-) ) From page 361, on the family of Fairfield County, Connecticut:
"SAMUEL SKIDMORE [was] born about 1668 at Jamaica, Queens County, New York. He married 1stly Susanna (living 1720), the daughter of Thomas Welling of Jamaica, and 2ndly Hannah, perhaps the daughter of Samuel Deane, Senior, and if this is so then the widow of John Gray who died in 1724 at Jamaica. He served in King William's War and was stationed at Albany on 17 June 1692."
It goes on to give further details about Samuel's life and lists his and Susanna's 12 children - 6 sons, 6 daughters. From the few details given on a 1720 will naming Susanna Skidmore as a beneficiary, it appears that Thomas Welling's wife's name may *possibly* have been Mary; this, and whether Mary was actually Susanna's mother, would need to be verified elsewhere. The authors may be able to provide more details.
Susanna was living in 1720 but had died before 1733, when Samuel's will was proved naming Hannah as his widow.
