PIONEER MAN SUMMONED BY DEATH
William Skibbe, well known aged farmer of Wayne Township suffered a paralytic stroke, Sunday, which was attributed to his death early Monday morning, Jan 10, in the home of his son, Lewis Skibbe, with whom he had made his home. Deceased was born in Parmmen, Germany, Sept, 12, 1857 and had reached the advanced age of 80 years, 3 months and 28 days at his demise. He immigrated to America in the year 1857 and settled in Chicago, later moving to Denham, LaPorte and North Judson, residing in the latter place for the past 35 years. Mr. Skibbe was united in marriage to Julia Panzer. This union was blessed with eleven children, six of whom survive, namely, William, Arthur and Edward of Chicago; Mrs. Joe Harris, George and Lewis Skibbe of North Judson.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1 o’clock from the Eatinger chapel in charge of Rev. O. W. Linnemeier. Interment was made in the Lutheran cemetery, Denham.
