According to "A GENEALOGICAL GAZETEER of ENGLAND" the first appearance of SKEFFINGTON in parish register of England is 1514 in Leicster , 9 1/2 miles NW of Uppingham. The next reference I have to a SKEFFINGTON in Leicestershire is that of John M. christened 16 Aug. 1799 in Medbourne, son of William and Hannah.Next stop is Ireland until Bernard SKIFFINGTON with wife Helen(Ellen) HOUSTON appear in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland abt. 1849 or 50 from Ireland.Trying to trace the ancestor trail of this Bernard through the years.
