My grandfather was John Jacob Schublom (originally spelled Sjoblom). Very little is known about his origins. He was born 14 February, 1879 and died 18 July 1958 in Duluth, Minnesota. Family think he came from the Vaasa region of Finland. He spoke Swedish. He migrated around 1900. He lived in Wisconsin and then Michigan prior to settling in Duluth. Anders Myhrman, Finnish Emigrant biographer has him in the data base hosted at
www.genealogia.fi. Myhrman states he was from Munsala, something I am yet to verify. It's not known to me if he migrated with any other family or friends. He does show up in a few sources posted on the Internet - many thanks to those who post their info! He was a photographer by trade and pursued the occupation during his years in Michigan. He was also a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church of Duluth. If anyone has additional information on him or can point me to sources where I can further my research I would be most grateful.
