ENGER SJOBERG- bio
Enger Sjoberg, one of seven children who came with Erick and Inger Sjoberg to Roseau county in 1888, was just three years old when they arrived.

As soon as he was old enough, he filed on a homestead claim of his own in Enstrom township, a mile east of Salol.

He nearly lost his life during a forest fire that swept through that area, and burned all the buildings on his farm.
He moved to Roseau where Enger opened a butcher shop. He sold the building in 1933, but had earlier (1927) disposed of the business.

In 1919, Enger married Alma Knudtson. She was born in the Wannaska area in 1900. They had two daughters: Eileen Sjoberg Nybro and Dorothy Sjoberg.

Alma Knudtson's grandparents, The Einar Olson's were early settlers in that area. Alma's mother: Mrs Olivia Knudtson, a widow with four children to support, had worked as a cook in a lumber camp near Salol.

The Sjobergs continued to live in Roseau until 1937, when they rebuilt on the homestead farm, and lived there for seven years before moving to California in order to be near their two daughters.

Enger Sjoberg passed away in October of 1957 and Alma in 1961. They were affiliated with the First Lutheran Church and the Mission Covenant Church.
