ERICK & INGA SJOBERG -bio
Erick and Inga Sjoberg came fra Sweden in 1888. They settled on what is commonly called the Franklin Farm, one mile north of Roseau on the river. They moved fra there to town on the corner of 3rd Street NE and 4th Avenue NE to a large house which at one time had a corner porch all screened in.

The land they lived on was homesteaded land in Salol, which Erick took out a patent for later.

Erhard Sjoberg, brother of Erick had 40 acres across the road. Erick's wife had 40 acres of land on 3rd Street NE.

Otis Norman, a relative of the Sjobergs, was a house mover who moved many homes around Roseau. He moved the farm house of Erick Sjoberg to Roseau in 1937 fra Salol.

There was a story about the Spruce Cemetery, in the Pioneer Village news. A child of Erick's, Alexander, born 10 December 1888 who died on 22 December was one of the first to be buried there. Inga was pregnant with Alexander when she traveled fra Sweden. They arrived May 18 and there were 8 or 10 settlers in the valley then.

Inga's sisters family came fra Sweden also and with them the Nels Risberg family. They lived south of the courthouse. There were two great-granddaughters, Marian (Mrs Rodney Brodin in TRF) and Jane (Mrs Allen Dadel of Dickinson, ND). Their mother was Lillie Skoglund Ulvin.
