Do you know if your grandfather Alfred had a brother named Eric or Erik Albin Seaborg? If so, your grandfather might have been my great-uncle.
Eric/Erik was my grandfather, and he immigrated to this country from Sweden. I understand that Eric/k and his brother paid their passage to this country by becoming indentured servants and working for some uncle on his farm - which I seem to recall might have been located somewhere in Iowa. After their 7 years were up, my grandfather eventually settled in Minnesota, and I was told his brother went to North Dakota. I think the name of the town my great uncle settled in was Gascoyne, North Dakota (or something very similar). I vaguely remember visiting him in Gascoyne sometime in the 60's, perhaps 1965, on one of our trips across country to visit my father's family in Minnesota.
